My favorite Portrait, Goal-line Stand
This is one of my favorite Alabama portraits. Here, Alabama held Penn State on the Goal-line for four downs to seal the National Championship in the Sugar Bowl in 1979.
On This page, you will find my favorite Alabama sites and pictures.

In 1985, Van Tiffen kicked this 52-yard field goal to beat in state rival Auburn, 23-22 with 6 seconds left to play. The drive to set up this kick began with less than a minute on the clock after Auburn had just scored to go ahead. Commentator Keith Jackson calls this 1985 game the "most fabulous fourth quarter he has ever seen."

The Tradition Continues
In the 1993 Sugar Bowl, Alabama faces #1 Miami for the National Championship. Alabama, the underdog, overcame a hiesman trophy winner and a high powered offense to win concvincingly 34-13. This win brought Alabama back to national prominence. This painting shows Coach Gene Stallings savoring the moment. The most catchy part of this painting is the one showing George Teague chase down Lamar Thomas from behind and strip the ball to save a touchdown.
